Privacy Policy
Privacy for Families
KidPlay is designed for parent-managed music and story listening. We only collect the information needed to run the app, sync family settings, and provide account, billing, and parental-control features.
Updated March 31, 2026
What We Collect
- Parent account details such as name, email address, password-protected login, and subscription status.
- Child profile details such as display name, age range, content filters, language selection, and screen-time settings.
- App usage data required for the service to work, including favorites, listening history, and screen-time tracking.
- Admin-managed content metadata and uploaded artwork/audio needed to operate the service.
- Limited diagnostics or crash reports if we enable release monitoring in a shipped build.
How We Use It
- To sign parents in, restore accounts, and keep child profiles synced across signed-in devices.
- To enforce parental controls such as content filtering, age-fit access, and screen-time limits.
- To provide account, subscription, support, legal, and security features.
- To store and deliver audio/artwork, process subscription entitlement state, and keep the service operating reliably.
Parents, Children, and Consent
- KidPlay is intended to be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
- Children use the service through child profiles created inside that parent-managed account. We do not intend for children to create standalone KidPlay accounts or make purchases directly.
- If you believe a child has provided personal information to us outside a parent-managed account, contact us so we can review and remove it.
Service Providers We Use
- Supabase to handle parent authentication, database storage, and synced account data.
- Backblaze B2 and Cloudflare to store and deliver artwork and audio files.
- RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement status, restore purchases, and billing-state sync with Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Sentry for crash diagnostics if we enable it in a production build.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not show third-party ads in KidPlay.
- We do not use third-party contextual advertising services, ad networks, or advertising SDKs in the app.
- We do not use child data, device identifiers, or app activity for advertising, ad measurement, or cross-app tracking.
- We do not sell child profile data.
- We do not collect microphone recordings from children.
Deletion and Retention
- Signed-in parents can delete their KidPlay account inside the app from Account Settings > Delete Account, or follow the public steps at /delete-account.
- While an account is active, we retain the parent account, child profiles, favorites, listening history, filters, and subscription mirror data needed to operate the service.
- Deleting an account removes the parent auth account and linked synced profile data from our live KidPlay application systems, unless we are legally required to retain a specific record.
- App Store or Play Store subscriptions may need to be canceled separately from account deletion, and store billing records remain under Apple or Google policies.
- Operational logs, security records, and provider backups may persist for a limited time after deletion until those systems age out or are overwritten.
